ReplyDeleteI have mixed feelings about Mother's Day, it's obviously great to be spoilt by my own children on this day and I'm fortunate to get many lovely gifts and meal at my favourite restaurant, but it is always tinged with sadness as I miss my own mum very much. xx

ReplyDeleteMother's Day means I'm two people at once, a Mother and a daughter. Which of course I am all the time, but today always reminds me of the fact.
ReplyDeleteMothers day reminds me that no matter what your age you will always be your mothers little girl, but as you grow older you get the opportunity to give some thing back.

ReplyDeleteHello I think mother's day is very exciting for mummy's to be and a lovely day for mummies as I don't believe it is about big presents, i think a cuddle from your little one and the fact you are lucky enough to be a mummy is special enough for me.
ReplyDeleteMy OH gave me a card and wrote about how much he loves and appreciates me that has really touched me. But the best part is that my little lady is only 17months old and her daddy told her to carry the card to me this morning and give me a kiss, now everytime she sees the card she keeps taking it down running to me and kissing me x
Mother's Day to me is all about appreciation. It is about appreciating my own mum and what she means to me. It is about feeling I am appreciated by my own children. It is about appreciating how great it is having a mum and being a mum!
ReplyDeleteI know I do continue to show my mum I appreciate her throughout the year too, just as my own children do. I often take a bunch of flowers around to my mum and my children are forever drawing me pictures, making me Lego egg-cups or even just coming for a cuddle and a hug. But I think of Mother's Day as a day when I can sit back and draw together -to collate - all those special little moments and gestures in order to appreciate how fantastic it is being a mum and having a mum!
I know it is hard for some - for those who have either lost or fallen out with their mum. What they must try to do is look back and remember all the good time, rather than the sad. I know my own mum visits my grandmother's grave with flowers each Mother's Day and I light candles for the two babies I sadly lost - Ceiran at 2 days old, and Connor, 6 weeks old, both due to premature labour. I know I will always be a mum to them, even though they are not here with me anymore, just like mum appreciate that she has a mum who can no longer be with her. We all have our different circumstances and we all have our different ways of celebrating Mother's Day but the one thing we all have in common is that we all have a mum or had a mum or are a mum and we all are thinking about at least one on these special day xxx

ReplyDeleteI enjoy Mother’s Day because it reminds me of all the kind good hearted women in my family and how much they mean to me. My mom obviously but my grandma and aunts too. I also enjoy going out to eat with my husband and just doing something together as a family. We do those things anyway but Mother’s Day is just another reason to celebrate life.

Mothers Day means to me a feeling of slight guilt that I'm nowhere near my mum to take her somewhere special. I think it seems to do that to everyone to some extent, maybe it would be better to put more effort in day to day instead of trying to show your appreciation and love for someone when your told to really!!

ReplyDeleteMother's Day is a day for me to remember my beautiful mum who passed away in January following a 7 week battle with kidney cancer. It's a day for me to appreciate all the love she has given me and although its a difficult and painful day, its also one to be grateful for the 25 years in which I had the best mum in the world to celebrate Mother's Day with.
ReplyDeleteMothers day is to celebrate my mum and appreciate all the sacrifices, advice and love she has given/made for me, and next year to be one of the mums!
